Why free forever for solos?
Productivity tools used to be respectful of solo workers. Then the industry grew up and started charging per seat, per workspace, per feature — and solo operators got squeezed.
Duudi keeps the whole workspace free for one reason: that's how it should be. When you grow into a studio with retainers, automation, and a real billing pipeline, Pro will be there for that. Until then, no obligation.
Honest answers
Is "free forever" a marketing trick?
No. The current Free feature set will stay free for accounts that already use it. If we ever need to change tiers, we'll grandfather you in — that's a promise, written into the terms.
What's the catch?
None. We make money later from Pro features that don't exist yet (automated billing, client portal, time tracking). Free users help us by using the product and telling us what's missing.
Do you sell my data or train AI on it?
No, and no. Read the privacy policy — it's short and plainly written.
What if Duudi shuts down?
You can export notes as Markdown and invoices as PDF anytime. If we ever wind down, we'll give 60 days notice and a full export tool.
What's an "AI capture credit"?
Quick capture has an optional AI layer — type a messy thought like "nclex meeting next thursday 10pm, invoice the client rm1250 for consulting" and it figures out the meeting, the invoice, the line items, the project tag, all in one go. Each Enter that triggers AI counts as one credit. Free gives you 100 to try; Pro replenishes 1,000 every month. The regex parser (everything non-AI) stays free and unmetered forever.
Why credits and not unlimited AI?
AI calls cost real money. Giving you 100 to try is generous; unlimited isn't sustainable. If you run out and Pro hasn't launched yet, the regular capture box still works — you just won't get the AI-powered multi-intent splitting.
When will Pro launch?
When the core product is so good that paying for automation makes obvious sense. Not before.
